French Camp Campground - July 23-25

We spent a couple of days at French Camp campground just north of Bishop - it was a beautiful site with "full shade"!!! Lots of rocks and great area for playing in nature...

Side Trip to Manzanar

We headed out for our family summer camping trip on Sat. July 23 -- packing and prepping for 5 people was a feat! But finally we hit the road towards our first camping spot just north of Bishop. On the way there, we stopped for a moment at Manzanar - one of the "War Relocation Center"s for Japanese Americans in WWII -- the boys found it interesting and we got to see a short film and some momentos and reproductions -- it's amazing what fear will cause us to do to fellow Americans - I hope this does not happen again....
